Behind the Print: Forget Me Not

Some prints arrive exactly when they're meant to.

Our Forget Me Not print first came to life back in 2022 while I was designing our Meadow print. Inspired by wildflower fields in full summer bloom, Meadow was always intended to be vibrant, layered, and full of detail. As I painted the collection, I knew I wanted a simpler companion print to sit on the reverse side and provide a little contrast to all that colour and movement.

I pulled out one of the tiny flowers from the Meadow artwork and began playing with a much more pared-back repeat. A small bud-shaped flower, scattered across the fabric in a simple ditsy arrangement. That design became Forget Me Not.

In its original form, Forget Me Not was bright, playful, and full of colour. We sampled a number of strike-offs and explored different directions, but ultimately decided Meadow worked best as an all-over print. Forget Me Not was archived before it ever made it into a collection.

For years, those early samples sat in the studio. Every season I'd pull them out, wondering whether their moment would eventually come.

Winter '26 was finally that moment.

As I began working on the collection, I found myself drawn to softer, more romantic references. Across fashion, interiors, and styling I kept noticing delicate details emerging—lace trims, bows, embroidery, and an ethereal femininity that felt nostalgic yet contemporary. One thing that particularly caught my eye was the use of real flowers as embellishments and appliqué details. There was something beautiful about the way flowers appeared to be stitched directly onto fabric.

That idea became the starting point for reimagining Forget Me Not.

Rather than simply printing the design, I began exploring how the tiny floral motif could be translated into embroidery. I wanted the flowers to feel as though they had been gently threaded across the fabric by hand. Seeing that concept come to life has been one of the most rewarding parts of this collection. The embroidered bedding captures exactly what I had envisioned from the beginning.

What I love most about the final range is its versatility. The embroidered pieces feel soft, romantic, and quietly luxurious. Styled against deep, rich colours, like the aubergine room we photographed the collection in, the delicate flowers create beautiful contrast. Yet in our blush bedroom setting, the same design feels light, feminine, and serene.

Alongside the embroidered pieces, I knew I wanted to explore a more colourful expression of the print. The Peony and Blue colourways were developed to sit alongside the warm vanilla base and bring a distinctly Mosey Me energy to the collection. Playful, optimistic, and full of personality, they offer a completely different mood while still sharing the same floral DNA.

That's perhaps my favourite thing about Forget Me Not. It demonstrates how transformative colour can be. The same simple flower has become two very different stories—one romantic and refined, the other bright and joyful.

As for favourite pieces, I can't go past the embroidered bedding for its delicate craftsmanship, while the patchwork cosmetic bag captures everything I love about the colourful side of the collection. It's playful, practical, and full of character.

After waiting patiently in the wings for several years, Forget Me Not has finally found its home. And I think it was worth the wait.
